This is shocking and painful to watch for me...
My story with the skin condition Vitiligo was recently brought to light via TV, newspaper and online. The name "Skinned Alive" is one I chose many years ago if I ever had the chance to write an autobiography for doing something worthwhile. Hopefully this journey is it.

that was honestly the most disturbing thing, that an entire family is doing this crap. apparently in Jamaica its the thing???? google pictures of sammy sosa. i dont understand why we dont let ourselves be. bleaching and then on the other side the tanning. we are who we are how we are because that's how we were meant to be
ReplyDeleteI second Teri's sentiment. This is horrible.
ReplyDeleteWhat's even more disturbing to me is that for years Jamaicans and Caribbean people on the whole have been fighting against discrimination because of skin colour, yet there are those who want to be "more" of a skin-colour and "less" of another. The girl said after what sounds to me like a tedious process followed by a warm bath, that when she's in the dancehall she 'IS' WHITE.. :-s
